Summer time means BURGER season! And now you can make delicious veggie burgers without using traditional eggs. This hearty veggie burger will put those mad cravings to rest. Pair this delicious burg with your favourite zesty coleslaw, baked fries, or BBQ grilled veggies.

Ingredients

Burgers

  • 1 cup of cooked quinoa
  • ½ cup of cooked lentils (red or green)
  • *Tip* cook them in veggie broth for extra flavour
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 Eggcitables egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 burger buns

Optional toppings

  • Sliced tomato
  • Lettuce or spinach
  • Vegan mayo
  • Vegan cheese

Directions

Make 1 Eggcitables egg in a small bowl and set aside. In a large mixing bowl combine quinoa, lentils, hemp seeds, Eggcitables. Mix thoroughly. Add salt and pepper.

Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Form the burger mix into patties. Fry the patties for 3-4 mins on each side until cooked through.

Assemble burgers according to your liking. Enjoy!
